Kent smashes Moto3™ lap record during FP3

Danny Kent left it late to set the fastest lap time ever by a Moto3™ bike around the Termas de Rio Hondo to head FP3 by over 0.3s.

Leopard Racing’s Danny Kent once again topped the timesheets in Argentina after FP3, ahead of Moto3™ Qualifying on Saturday afternoon. The British rider set the fastest ever time around the 4.8 km Termas de Rio Hondo circuit late on in the session, to finish 0.3s in front of the rest of the field. His time of 1’48.854 almost two-tenths quicker than Alex Marquez’s pole time from last season. Kent’s teammate Efren Vazquez (+0.302s) was in 2nd, making it a Leopard racing 1-2, ahead of KTM Red Bull Ajo’s Miguel Oliveira (+0.576s) in 3rd.

Fabio Quartararo on the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda was in 4th as he continued to impress, ahead of the two SAXOPRINT-RTG bikes of John McPhee (+0.647s) and Alexis Masbou (+0.732s) respectively.
